The Lu
Laboratory is in the Division of Biomedical Informatics at the Cincinnati
Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). We are affiliated
with the Department of Pediatrics and Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) and Department of Computer Science at the University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Medicine. (Quick Facts)
Broadly speaking, the
current research at the Laboratory is focused on bringing quantitative
approaches from disciplines such as computer science and applied mathematics to
address fundamental questions in molecular biology.
In particular, we
are interested in deciphering human genetic blueprint; modeling complex
biological systems, such as biomolecular networks and
pathways; and facilitating drug discovery and development. We pay special
attention to developing computational tools to unravel the molecular mechanism
of human diseases, especially those in Pediatrics, such as cancer, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. We would welcome any suggestions
on initiating collaborations.
Our research
emphasizes structural and functional aspects of biomolecules by modeling and
simulation. We exploit diverse sources of genomic databases by integration and
comparison. To learn more about our research, please check out our selected publications.
* All Bioinformatics positions have been filled.
The above positions are open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Highly self-motivated candidates are encouraged to apply.
Please send your CV and a list of publications (if applicable)
